We begin the 3 day period of Allhallowtide, a time in which we remember loved ones who have passed away, as well as the saints and martyrs who have guided the Church.<\/p>\n<p>Together we will say a prayer for those close to us who have passed away<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEternal rest, grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them.<\/p>\n<p>May they rest in peace. Amen.<\/p>\n<p>May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amen.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday 1st November<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today is the feast of All Saints Day. Today, we remember the saints and martyrs of the Church who have helped to shape and guide our faith.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The patron saint of our school is St Ninian. He is thought to have been the person who first brought Christianity to Scotland in 397 AD.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Together, we will pray for St Ninian and all the saints<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow shining and splendid are your gifts, O Lord<\/p>\n<p>which you give us for our eternal well-being<\/p>\n<p>Your glory shines radiantly in your saints, O God<\/p>\n<p>In the honour and noble victory of the martyrs.<\/p>\n<p>The white-robed company follow you,<\/p>\n<p>bright with their abundant faith;<\/p>\n<p>They scorned the wicked words of those with this world&#8217;s power.<\/p>\n<p>For you they sustained fierce beatings, chains, and torments,<\/p>\n<p>they were drained by cruel punishments.<\/p>\n<p>They bore their holy witness to you<\/p>\n<p>who were grounded deep within their hearts;<\/p>\n<p>they were sustained by patience and constancy.<\/p>\n<p>Endowed with your everlasting grace,<\/p>\n<p>may we rejoice forever<\/p>\n<p>with the martyrs in our bright fatherland.<\/p>\n<p>O Christ, in your goodness,<\/p>\n<p>grant to us the gracious heavenly realms of eternal life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday 2nd November<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today is All Soul\u2019s day, when we pray for the souls of all Christians who have passed away.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Together, we will pray for the souls of the faithful departed<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor all our departed brothers and sisters Merciful Father, hear our prayer and console us. As we renew our faith in Your Son, whom You raised from the dead, strengthen our hope that all our departed brothers and sisters will share in His resurrection, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
