Michael McGrade and Holly Edgar were representing St Ninian\u2019s at Douglas Academy in Milngavie and presented a powerful opposition to the motion that \u2018it is regretful that social media is the primary source of news distribution\u2019.<span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Both Michael and Holly worked incredibly hard to draw together the most compelling evidence in their case, delivering well-structured and highly convincing speeches on the night and tackling the proposition\u2019s counter-arguments confidently.<\/p>\n<p>Although Michael and Holly will not proceed to the next round, we wish them the very best of luck in future debates.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15832 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StNinians\/files\/2017\/03\/Donald-Dewar-Debating-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"632\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pupils from schools across Scotland were competing in the semi-finals of the Law Society of Scotland\u2019s \u2018Donald Dewar Memorial Debating tournament\u2019 last night.
