Weekly Prayers

Wednesday 13 February 2019.

Faith needs us to have a relationship with God. To develop and maintain a friendship or relationship with anyone we need to make sure that we are spending time and communicating with our friends.

It is the same with our relationship with God. Prayer is our way of communicating with God and spending time with him. In your day, put some time a-side for prayer.  From morning, and throughout your day and then finally before you sleep put the mobile away and give yourself some quiet time. Our Oratory is used by staff and pupils who spend a few minutes in quiet prayer.

For us as Catholics the greatest prayer we have is the Mass and the Eucharist. We are blessed to have Mass each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8.25am and Eucharistic Adoration every Friday.

If you want to increase your faith, increase your prayers.

Hail Mary…..

Thursday 14 February 2019.

Today is the Feast of St Valentine and there are many stories about him. The Valentine Card practice does seem to have some true connection to St Valentine. It is said that in prison for his faith he would send letters to other Christians reminding them of the love of God and to be courageous in the practice of their faith.

You may have sent some Valentine Cards but make sure you let people know that God loves them through the way you treat them. Our actions should reflect the love of God for each one of us.

Hail Mary…

Friday 15 February 2019.

Today we pray for vocations to the priesthood.

Jesus our Saviour came down from heaven to shed light on our human existence, and to show us the way to the Father.

We pray that as we grow and develop in the image and likeness of God ‐ body, mind and soul ‐ we understand more fully the dignity, vocation and purpose of our lives and become witnesses of God’s truth to those around us.

Now in faith we ask God to provide for our needs as we say –

Our Father……..
