Weekly Prayers

Monday 26 March 2018.

Writing about Lent, one of our Third Years said : ‘ For me Lent means knowing how important it is to think about others before myself. We must always think of other before ourselves. It is important that we try to live like Jesus in everything we do. Although, we may want one thing, we need to think about what it best for those around us – just as Jesus did.’

Today we ask Mary to help us be more and more like her Son.

A Third Year boy writes : ‘ Lent is a time of reflection when we look at ourselves and think of how we could be a better person. We try to be a better person by choosing to stop doing something or start doing something as a sacrifice. Jesus spend forty days in the desert being tempted by the Devil but he remained strong.’

We pray that our efforts and sacrifices will bear fruit and that we, indeed, will be better people. We pray that our sacrifices will help us be strong and resist temptation to sin.

A Third Year girl wrote : ‘ We are now in Holy Week and coming to the end of our Forty Days of Lent. We are encouraged to take a full part in the activities of Holy Week to remember and fully appreciate the great sacrifice Jesus made for each on of us’.

We pray that we will grow more thankful for all that God has done for us especially for sending his Son to save us.

Hail Mary….

From a Third Year. On the night before Jesus was killed, he gathered his Apostles at what we call the Last Supper and there gave us the great gift of the Eucharist. I find starting my school day at Morning Mass helps me be ready for the day and reminds me that God is with me in all that I do.’
