Armed Forces Day 2017

Rouken Glen Park will play host to the annual Armed Forces Family Fun Day this month.

The free, family-friendly event is being held on Saturday 17 June and will have a wide variety of attractions for all ages.

It will start at 12pm with the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag at the park’s Pavilion.

In the main events area, attractions will include a military display, climbing wall, birds of prey, assault courses, farmers market, craft stalls and a chance to try archery and laser quest.

Vintage military vehicles and costumes will be on show, and the 3SIXTY bike display team will perform during the afternoon.

Also, performances from battle re-enactment group, Swords of Dalriada, along with local sports group I-Kick Martial Arts and local musicians.

Armed Forces Day is a national celebration designed to give people the opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community, from serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets.
