{"id":6909,"date":"2018-03-05T15:39:19","date_gmt":"2018-03-05T14:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StMarks\/?p=6909"},"modified":"2018-03-05T15:39:19","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T14:39:19","slug":"free-elearning-an-introduction-to-positive-behaviour-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StMarks\/2018\/03\/05\/free-elearning-an-introduction-to-positive-behaviour-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Free elearning &#8211; an introduction to Positive Behaviour Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The elearning resource is for <strong>family carers of young people with autism (age 5 to 18)<\/strong>.\u00a0 This can be parents, grandparents, carers, foster carers, siblings etc.\u00a0 This would also include family carers of young people in the process of assessment\/diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>The intended outcome of the training is <strong>an introduction to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)<\/strong> and the learning outcomes we have identified are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To promote awareness of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach<\/li>\n<li>To define challenging behaviour<\/li>\n<li>To learn about the stages of challenging behaviour<\/li>\n<li>To promote understanding of why a young person may have challenging behaviours<\/li>\n<li>To learn about Functional Assessment, and how this information informs strategy planning<\/li>\n<li>To feel competent and confident in taking this approach forward<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are 7 sections in the course, which will take approximately 30 minutes each, although the user can choose the section that is of most interest to them rather than completing each section.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the course, we give the option to support completion of a One Page Profile, or an individual plan.
