{"id":4046,"date":"2015-01-23T09:05:52","date_gmt":"2015-01-23T08:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StMarks\/?p=4046"},"modified":"2015-01-23T13:09:44","modified_gmt":"2015-01-23T12:09:44","slug":"clyde-in-the-classroom-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/StMarks\/2015\/01\/23\/clyde-in-the-classroom-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Clyde in the Classroom 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Primary 6a are participating in <strong><span style=\"color: #800000\">Clyde in the Classroom<\/span>. <\/strong>It<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is a hands-on project which uses the life history of a native Scottish species, the brown trout,\u00a0to promote\u00a0awareness of river ecology among young people across the River Clyde catchment.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Over the next seven weeks, P6 will engage with nature and develop a sense of pride in their local environment.\u00a0The children\u00a0will be\u00a0responsible for the care of brown trout within their classroom and will work weekly with <span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800000\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clyderiverfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Clyde River Foundation<\/a><\/strong><\/span> scientists. The twin outcomes of developing citizenship and personal confidence\u00a0will be\u00a0illustrated by their personal and group work. Yesterday, P6a\u00a0 visited the Science Centre\u00a0in preparation\u00a0for the project. They also had time to explore the Science mall.
