Dear Parents and Carers,<\/p>\n
The purpose of this website is to give you an insight into the ethos and life of St. Mark\u2019s Primary School. The Charter for Catholic Schools sets out the importance of \u201chonouring the life, dignity and voice of each person, made in the image of God\u201d. This defines our mission as a school and underpins our approach to relationships with every member of our school community.<\/p>\n
We care deeply about the children. We recognise what a privilege it is to play our part in their education and formation, in close partnership with you as the first educator of your child. We are wholly committed to enabling the children to \u201cflourish in a climate of high expectations, innovation and creativity\u201d. This commitment shines through in our curriculum design, with careful consideration given to what we teach and how we choose to teach it. The children\u2019s views and interests are central to this process. We make time to listen to their thoughts on learning to ensure that we truly understand what motivates and inspires them as learners. We take our responsibility very seriously and, at the same time, remain open to the children\u2019s great capacity for joy, humour and laughter.<\/p>\n
We are blessed with a warm, welcoming school environment with a range of excellent resources to support the children\u2019s learning. However, our most important resource is our human resource and our whole staff team are committed to ongoing professional learning and school improvement initiatives.\u00a0 We work with colleagues across our St. Luke\u2019s Cluster and beyond in a mutually supportive way to ensure that we are getting it right for the children at every stage of their educational journey.<\/p>\n
None of the above would be possible without the trust, support and partnership of our parents and carers. We will continue to look for creative ways to strengthen this partnership with you and to involve you meaningfully in the work and life of the school.<\/p>\n
