St Luke’s High School Eco Code

St Luke’s High School is committed to an ethos of sustainability and responsible global citizenship.

This is our Eco Mission Statement:

St Luke’s High School will encourage good environmental practice among its staff and pupils.

St Luke’s High School will seek to ensure that suppliers and external contractors to the school apply the same level of commitment and concern to environmental matters

St Luke’s High School will ensure that it complies with good environmental practice when managing its grounds.

St Luke’s High School will pursue a ‘good neighbour’ policy in relation to its immediate surroundings.

St Luke’s High School will use its staff expertise to provide a curriculum that offers the pupils of the school a high quality education in environmental matters at all levels.

St Luke’s High School will use its knowledge base to help promote Scotland’s environmental well being, by interacting positively with the local community, industry, commerce and with the wider national and international communities, to address environmental issues.

St Luke’s High School will participate in the Carbon Reduction Programme in order to actively seek to reduce our carbon footprint and manage our energy consumption.

St Luke’s High School will have an Eco schools committee consisting of pupils and interested staff, to move forward the aims of the programme within the school.
