Catholic Education Week 28th January – 3rd February

Catholic Education Week 28th January – 3rd February

Our school community will be involved in celebrating Catholic Education Week from 28th January 2018.

Celebrations begin with our cluster mass on Sunday 28th January. St John’s Primary will be participating at the 10am Mass alongside pupils from St Luke’s and St Mark’s. If you are attending any mass over the weekend we would encourage children to wear full school uniform.

In addition to the cluster celebration we intend on celebrating this year’s theme “Serving the Common Good” throughout the month of February.  All classes will lead a class Prayer service at the school, we hope you will be able to attend.

Huge thanks to Mrs Higgins and the parent council for our new religious resources. Fr Paul visited us to give a special blessing of our gifts. Each class has now received a beautifully framed picture of St John, new candles and holy water fonts.  Fr Paul also blessed P4’s first communion rosary beads and P7’s crucifixes.

Bishop John Keenan will offer a Mass at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd November for all parishioners who have died in the parish since 1841. It is hoped that as many as possible will attend this Mass, including families and those who no longer live in Barrhead but may have had relatives here who have died. Please invite anyone you know who may be interested.
