Today, our dynamic youth group held their long awaited digi-event for the residents of St Mary’s.
The group carefully planned the whole afternoon and the residents had a blast! The children loaded the VR Headsets with places the residents enjoyed visiting as children or always dreamed of visiting. They toured Germany, Paris, Canada and even had time for a 360 hot air balloon ride and 360 shark experience. The headsets proved a great hit! The children also discussed how school had changed over time and gave the residents time to explore the promethean board before a quick tour of some classrooms.
Everyone agreed- schools certainly have changed!
Celebrating 100 years of Catholic Education
One of the highlights of the Centenary celebrations for Catholic schools is a National Mass on the 14th June, at 1pm in Falkirk Stadium where every Catholic School in Scotland will be represented at this unique occasion.
In total, St John’s has randomly selected 16 pupils to attend the Mass. Four staff/adults will accompany the children on the day. The children will leave St John’s around 9:15am and depart Falkirk by 3pm. We estimate their arrival back at St John’s to be around 4pm.
Children should wear full school uniform on the day and bring a packed lunch.
On Monday the 11th of June we will be holding an information afternoon on the relationship and sexual health resource,
God’s Loving Plan.
This information afternoon will take place from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in the Gingerbread Room.
The afternoon will give parents/carers an opportunity to look at resources and ask questions.
The session is a drop-in session so please feel free to pop in anytime from 2.30pm until 3.30pm.
Reminder- P7 Leavers’ Mass
Primary 7 Leavers’ Mass will be held in St. John’s Primary School on Tuesday 12th June at 6pm.
The parent council will be providing Tea/Coffee afterwards.
This will be a moving and fitting way to mark the transition of our pupils. All P7 parents and carers are invited to attend.
The Parent Council have established a supplier for our school uniforms. They have worked in partnership with Tesco to provide badged uniform items which can be purchased online . The school will gain 5% cash back on all orders which will help boost school funds. Uniform items continue to be available from alternative providers such as Schoolwear Made Easy.
