The children will use the same exit doors as yesterday. The paths have been cleared and salted but please take care when walking around the school building.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by the weather this morning. Mr Campbell has salted the paths three times since the school opened at 7.00am  but it has made no impact due to the thickness of the ice. As a safety precaution we have asked the children to change exit through a different door:

P1 children will exit through the P3 door

P3 children will exit through the P3 fire doors

P2 children will exit through their door as normal

P4-7 children will exit through the P7 corridor door

These are the safest routes that are the least affected by the ice. Members of staff will be at each exit to ensure safety.

From Monday 5th January 2015 all Primary 1 to 3 pupils have been provided  with a healthy lunch that meets the requirements of the Health Promotion and Nutrition (Scotland) Act 2007.  If your child has not taken up this opportunity,  please encourage your child to take up their entitlement and try the various foods available.

The first meeting of the Parent Equalities Forum will take place on Thursday 15 January in Woodfarm HS at 7pm. The main item on the agenda will be the Education Department’s Equalities Delivery Plan.

Congratulations to Grace Kelly and Eve Barrow from Primary 7. They both won the Food Standards Agency Competition this year.  Well done girls, we are very proud of you both!

The House Team officially opened the Play barn with the help of Santa! The children presented a short speech whilst Santa played the bagpipes. A timetable will be organised to allow all classes a fair amount of time in the barn. Teaching staff will use it to teach Music, PE, Circle Time etc.

I am delighted to tell you that the St Cadoc’s Ski Team put in a fantastic performance yesterday to place 2nd in the Scottish Schools Skier and Boarder Cross Competition at Snow Factor.

 The course is a steep, with banked tight turns, and drop/jump and some technical humps/rollers. With over 150 pupils from all round Scotland competing, we had amazing individual placing’s of 1st and 2nd in the Female ski category for Isla and Erin Ward. The team were beaten by only 1 point as points are accrued from both across Snowboard and Ski disciplines. With St Cadoc’s having only skiers, taking Team 2nd was a fantastic achievement.

 With a great 2nd run, Luke Burke placed 6th overall in the boys category, and 1st timers for the School, Melissa Burke and Eve Turnbull both had 2 very clean solid runs down a very tight, steep, icy course, placing well. Mareesa Cassidy, who has only had a handful of races before, was also very impressive, tackling the course with great style and posting times up next to many of the ski race trainees.

 The children were, as always, polite, helpful to other teams, smiling and having fun all day. They always work well as a team and we look forward to them enjoying more schools competitions in the future.

The House Team are holding a celebration day for all our support staff on Friday 28th November. The children have invited them to join them for a ‘Celebration Tea’ and will present a PowerPoint presentation, card and cakes to show their appreciation for the work they do.

The children in P7 from St Cadoc’s, Crookfur and Isobel Mair will be taking part in a Kilt walk on Thursday 27th November. Each school will wear their kilts or something tartan as they walk to Eastwood High where they will take part in a Ceilidh. Please give them a wave if you see them pass by!

St Cadoc’s PSA are holding their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday 29th November from 12pm till 3pm.

Parent School Association Meeting

Our next PSA meeting is on the 19^th November at 6.30pm in St Cadoc’s Primary.  This meeting will focus on organising the Christmas Fayre, we look forward to seeing you there!

The preparations for the P4 Sacrament of First Holy Communion begins with a meeting for parents and Monsignor Monaghan at St Cadoc’s Church on the 17th November at 7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
