Learners will\u00a0develop the ability to use strategies to make appropriate decisions for effective\u00a0performance. They will also analyse a performance, looking specifically at the<br \/>\nimpact of mental, emotional, social and physical factors, understand what is\u00a0required to develop it and then apply this knowledge to their own performance.<\/p>\n<p>By actively participating in physical activities, learners will demonstrate initiative,\u00a0decision-making and problem-solving. They will experience a range of roles and\u00a0responsibilities, and this will enable them to develop their interpersonal skills. The\u00a0Course also provides an opportunity to support the way that individual attitudes,\u00a0values and behaviours are formed as physical education contributes to social,\u00a0mental and emotional development.<\/p>\n<p>The main aims of the Course are to enable the learner to:<br \/>\n\u2666 develop a broad and comprehensive range of complex movement and\u00a0performance skills, and demonstrate them safely and effectively across a\u00a0range of challenging contexts<br \/>\n\u2666 select and apply skills and make informed decisions to effectively perform in\u00a0physical activities<br \/>\n\u2666 analyse mental, emotional, social and physical factors that impact on\u00a0performance<br \/>\n\u2666 understand how skills, techniques and strategies combine to produce an\u00a0effective performance<br \/>\n\u2666 analyse and evaluate performance to enhance personal effectiveness<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course assessment structure<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nComponent 1 \u2014 performance <strong>60 marks (50%)<\/strong><br \/>\nComponent 2 \u2014 question paper\u00a050<strong> marks (50%)<\/strong><br \/>\nTotal marks <strong>110 marks <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Purpose and aims of the Course The main purpose of this Course is to develop and demonstrate a broad and\u00a0comprehensive range of complex skills in challenging contexts.
