NABs
All National Qualifications Courses contain Internal Assessments (NABs) which students must pass in order to gain unit awards. Successful Unit passes form part of the Course award. Similarly new National 4 and National 5 courses contain unit assessments which require to be passed. It is our intention that NABs and unit assessments will take place during the week identified.
Students will be asked by their teacher to note in their planner the actual date of an assessment at least one week prior to any assessment.
Sometimes circumstances beyond our control, such as a student or teacher absence etc. may involve a change to an assessment date. Class teachers will tell students of any departure from the dates published. They will receive one week’s notice before any alternative date for assessment.
If a student fails to pass a NAB/National 4 or National 5 unit assessment they will be allowed a reassessment. These students will be notified by their teachers of the dates for any reassessment, at least one week prior to the date for reassessment.
Please note that in line with SQA guidelines, only ONE reassessment of a NAB/unit assessment will normally be allowed.
