Geographical Issues<\/p>\n

Your Geographical Issue will take the form of a critical essay in which you summarise and evaluate differing viewpoints on a contemporary geographical topic. To support your preparation, you will engage with a range of sources throughout the year, including web articles, academic journals, podcasts, videos, and blog posts.<\/p>\n

These materials will also help to deepen and extend your understanding beyond the Higher Geography course content.<\/p>\n

For this week, you are required to read an article titled \u201cMapping the World\u2019s Glaciers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

To develop your skills in summarising and critical analysis, you should complete a Geographical Reading Sheet<\/a> (available on Docs) to help structure your response.<\/p>\n

If you require support with referencing, you can consult the Open University guide.<\/a><\/p>\n

Geographical Study<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the course of the year, you’ll work your way through different techniques to present<\/span>, describe and interpret geographical data. These skills will be used in your Geography Study and will also be questioned in the AH Geography exam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The materials to learn about these are online and consist of a description of the technique, a challenge question, a worked example and an activity to complete.\u00a0 Some of this will be completed at home but we <\/span>will be used to go through the activity and check you have done it correctly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For this week, please complete the work on Systems Diagrams and Bipolar Analysis which can be accessed here<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
