Glasgow Urban Trip

Every year S3 head into Glasgow to carry out their fieldwork and collect their data for the national 5 assignment. This is a crucial part of the national course – National 4 use the data to create a poster showing their results, while National 5 use the data to write up their finding under exam conditions.

Through out the day the Geography teachers take the pupils  to different locations around the city: Buchannan Street (CBD), Dennistoun (Inner city) and Deaconsbank (Suburbs) in order to give pupils the opportunity to collect their data. The pupils are free to use their data in any way they want and they are responsible for what their research aim will be.

During the day the pupils also get the unique opportunity to see Glasgow in a very different way: a speedboat tour down the Clyde!! With a tour guide included, the pupils can enjoy seeing and learning about their city in a very different and exhilarating way!!
