Course Information

Pupils will build on their understanding of risk in the human and physical worlds by exploring the dynamics of cultures, societies and economies in the Globalisation Unit. In an ever more interconnected world, pupils learn how their lives are linked to others at a local, national and international level. Pupils explore the climates of today and predict the climates of the future in the Environmental Issues Unit, learning how we can behave sustainably to limit the impacts of global warming. Pupils think about place and understand the physical characteristics that cause extreme climates, learning how humans have adapted their lives to live in such Extreme Places.  Pupils complete a detailed geographical case study, learning about Brazil and its many landscapes, people, climates and culture that help to make it one of the most diverse countries in the world
