Engineering the Future for Girls Monday 8 – Friday 12 June 2020 Please find enclosed a leaflet describing Strathclyde University’s 1-week Summer School for S3 girls (entering S4 in June). Engineering the Future for Girls is being delivered in collaboration with BP and BAM Nuttall and is designed to engage girls in a wide range of engineering challenges that will inspire them to become the next generation of engineers.
SQA Folio Requests will be accepted up until Friday the 30th of August. Payment can be made on Parent Pay, tear off slips should be returned to the department. Any questions please see a member of staff.

Women in Engineering Conference 2019 29th – 31st July Girls aged 15-17 from schools across the UK are invited to apply for a fully funded place at this unique residential conference hosted by the University of Aberdeen. Applications are now open with 45 places available. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their application and a school reference. Application deadline Friday 29 March 2019. If you are in S6 and are interested in getting some experience working with young people in the Design and Technology department then come down and speak to us about volunteering during your study periods. Whatever your strengths are, we can find a place for you to develop many of your skills and to give back to the school.
If any pupil would like to request the return of their National 5 Design and Manufacture folio from the SQA, please speak to your S4 teacher before the end of the week. Having your work can help to boost a portfolio that can be used when applying for positions in university, college or the workforce.
