Our S2 Chemistry Course consists of 4 units which provide an excellent foundation for both the National 4 and 5 courses:

Unit 1 – Becoming a Chemist
Unit 2 – Everyday Chemistry
Unit 3 – Chemistry of Life
Unit 4 – Chemistry for the Future

Throughout the S2 Chemistry course, pupils have the opportunity to develop scientific inquiry and investigative skills as well as analytical thinking skills.  Pupils will make use of technology and a range of chemical apparatus through safe and purposeful practical work.  Skills will be developed which are essential for the Senior Phase curriculum and beyond, and are also transferrable across curricular areas.  This will provide pupils with a range of skills which they can continue to develop as they progress through a range of curricular pathways and onto positive and sustainable destinations.

Pupil progress will be monitored through regular homework, formative and summative assessments and practical investigations.
