Italian
P6a continued their 1+2 lessons in Italian today revising greetings and numbers. They learned some names of common animals and then combined Italian with ICT by using IPads to research some common landmarks and food in Italy. They children commented that this related to their Europe topic and made them want to learn about Italy even more.
Active spelling
Pupils were making their spelling words using practical resources and “drawing” on each other with their fingers to recognise the words.
Celebrating achievements
Well done to Caley for competing in a series of matches with his football team.

Pancakes Vs crepes
As part of their Europe topic and with shrove Tuesday so close, P6a used their teamwork & measurement skills to follow a recipe to create French crepes or Scottish pancakes.
Naturally, they had to taste the final product for quality control reasons!
The Northern Lights
As part of their social studies topic, P6a have been learning about Norway, which also links to their current novel study.
They have been learning about the phenomenon called Aurora borealis known as “The Northern Lights” are created. They then used chalk pastels to create their own interpretation of the images they had seen.
PE sessions
Even the wet weather doesn’t stop P6a from getting active and raising their heart rate!

Active spelling
Pupils created word searches using their spelling words. They worked with a partner to identify their spelling words within the grid.
Bikeability letters
Pupils have been issued with their Bikeability letters today. This contains important dates and a consent form. Could this please be filled in and returned by Wednesday 19th February.
