Victorian cooking
Inspired by a Victorian cookbook and using ingredients that would have been available during the time period, P6a & P6b joined forces to bake a lovely apple cake.
We were lucky enough to be joined by some P1 helpers.
After all the preparation, the children learned the importance of tidying up and cleaning their equipment!
Finally, it was a chance to taste their creations. The resounding verdict was every group had correctly followed the recipe, weighed and measured their ingredients and baked a tasty cake!

Gardening
This week P6a worked in the school garden to harvest the crops sown last term. We had the pleasure of digging up carrots, potatoes and onions and picked lots of apples and some pears. Next week we will use some of these to cook with and work on our food technology skills.
We explored nature around the garden areas and spotted plenty of spiders, worms and a ladybird that refused to leave us!

Ciao!!
This week P6a began their Italian lessons. They learned how to say hello and  goodbye in a variety of forms, what is your name and my name is.
We are very lucky that one of our pupils lived in Italy for a year and she can help with pronunciation.
Following some examples the children hosted a walkabout talk about where they greeted everyone they met.
