All pupils were high spirited and excited about competing against some of East Renfrewshire’s finest runners. The weather, glorious to begin with, soon deteriorated, this however didn’t hamper the spirits of all pupils involved, who showed immense resolve over a challenging course.

Stand out performances were from the third year girls team who came in fourth out of seven entered schools, credit to Lara Wilkie, Jennifer Campbell, Sophie McKeown, Therese Kearins, Selina Gurley and Alyssa Greally.

IMG_2967Individual performances from top runners were Lara Wilkie who positioned 9th out of  S3 girls , Joseph O’Hara who also positioned 9th for S3 boys, with an excellent debut by Dominic Reilly who finished 11th in the S1 boys category.

All pupils were exemplarily and credit to St Luke’s high school and the staff.  Superb Effort!!!! 🙂

Girls Football Success!

St Luke’s girls football team hosted  a football tournament on Wednesday 24th, to all local East Renfrewshire schools. The girls were enthusiastic about the opportunity to play some of their rivals in previously fought matches.  Despite the challenging weather conditions all girls were high spirited and determined to do the jersey proud!

St Luke’s entered three teams, involving junior and senior pupils. The juniors won two of their four games, beating MearnsCastle twice with the seniors wining three of their games.

All girls did a fantastic job and were a credit to the school!!

S3 Scottish Cup!

On Tuesday 20th the S3 netballers competed in their follow up rounds of the Scottish Cup to Kilgraston Independent School in Perth!

The girls where in high spirits when they left on Tuesday and were anxious to get going! some mildly irritating singing helped Jim the girls ‘favourite’ driver make the long, yet scenic journey- (where there was no snow!!) to the venue.

The girls competed well and fought hard against the opposition which presented a challenging feat for the St Luke’s girls. However, true to their nature they didn’t give up and consistency was the ‘key’. With a depleted team the girls worked together to outwit and strong, tall Perth side, unfortunately Kilgraston still managed to come out on top.

All girls had a fantastic day out and were a credit to St Luke’s and the PE and Health Faculty! A special thanks to Jim the bus driver and apologies for any deafness that might have been caused 😉20150120_123137
