Dear all,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>As we outlined earlier in the school year the OLM – PSA are trying some new events for fundraising this year to ensure that all children can take part.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Last term we enjoyed the successful Reindeer Day and Christmas Fayre which enabled us to fund \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Think Science
\n<\/span><\/b>The profits from the Christmas Fayre have funded the Think Science Workshops for P1 to P6. Feedback from the children and staff has been extremely positive and we hope to be able to fund this activity each year (although as the workshops are so expensive we are likely only to be able to fund this every second year for each class). Total cost \u00a33100.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Playground equipment
\n<\/span><\/b>Thanks to the Reindeer Day the PSA are purchasing approximately \u00a3900 of play equipment to keep the children occupied at play time. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Look out for the hula hoops, Frisbees, ribbons, balls and more which should be in the playgrounds from next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b>We have also set aside \u00a3500 for paint for playground markings as part of the joint playground initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Dates for your diary\u2026
\n<\/span><\/b>Easter Egg Hunt Days – Monday 27th<\/sup> \u00a0(P1,2,3 & 7) and Tuesday 28th<\/sup> March (P4,5,& 6)<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

All children will be able to take part in the OLM Easter Egg hunt organised by Mr McCann. For P1 & P2 this will involve finding letters to make an Easter word and P3 \u2013 P7 will use a full orienteering course round the school to find clues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Children can wear Easter colours, take part in the egg hunt, Easter activities and will take home a small hollow chocolate egg.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>We ask that every child brings \u00a31.50<\/b> to cover the costs and to raise funds for the playground initiative. \u00a0Money can be brought in on the day or in advance. <\/span>We will also need parent helpers each day morning and afternoon<\/span>. We will put out a request for helpers on the OLM- PSA facebook page. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Summer Fun Day \u2013 Saturday 3rd<\/sup> June<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve decided to try a fun day in the school \/ playground (weather dependant) with games, bouncy castle, bricks for kids, toys, face painting, home baking, tea room etc. with <\/b><\/span>no entry fee<\/span><\/b> and no activity costing more than \u00a31. <\/span><\/b>All profits raised will go back to activities and resources for the children. Full details to follow\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b>School Discos \u2013 back by popular demand
\n<\/span><\/b>Tuesday 13th<\/sup> June – P1 (6.30 to 7.30pm) & P4 (7.45 to 9.00pm)<\/span>Wednesday 14th<\/sup> June – P2 (6.30 to 7.30pm) & P5 (7.45 to 9.00pm)<\/span>Thursday 15th<\/sup> June – P3 (6.30 to 7.30pm) & P6 (7.45 to 9.00pm)<\/span>(P7 have a leavers\u2019 Ceilidh)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>We hope that these events will be fun for the children whilst raising much needed resources for the children and school.<\/span><\/p>\n
