{"id":5883,"date":"2014-12-08T11:49:44","date_gmt":"2014-12-08T10:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/OurLadyMissions\/?p=5883"},"modified":"2015-02-02T11:02:01","modified_gmt":"2015-02-02T10:02:01","slug":"adverse-weather-contingency-plan-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/OurLadyMissions\/2014\/12\/08\/adverse-weather-contingency-plan-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Adverse Weather Contingency Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that we are experiencing wintry weather conditions, I would like to outline the arrangements we have put into place should the weather conditions become extreme.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On wet mornings the children should come into the junior department and main building via the main doors and they will be looked after until 8.55am before being sent along to their classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Should there be a snowfall our janitors will clear a path from the main car park to the front door of each of the buildings and the stairs leading from the main building up to the junior department will also be cleared.<\/p>\n<p>The path to the rear of the school leading up to Glenwood Nursery <strong>will not<\/strong> be cleared by the school\u2019s janitorial staff.<\/p>\n<p>During periods of severe adverse weather the Council will endeavour to do everything in its power to ensure that schools remain open. However, should our school require to be closed, as much notice as possible will be given to parents. This may take the form of an email, memo in the school bag, and a notice on the home page of the school website.<\/p>\n<p>East Renfrewshire Council\u2019s official website will also contain up to date information regarding the impact of the adverse weather conditions on Council services including schools.<\/p>\n<p>Should the school require to be closed during the course of a school day; no child will be allowed to make their way home unsupervised. Parents, having been contacted by text, will be expected to make arrangements for pupils to be collected from the school.
