{"id":5443,"date":"2014-05-01T08:18:04","date_gmt":"2014-05-01T07:18:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/OurLadyMissions\/?p=5443"},"modified":"2014-05-01T08:18:04","modified_gmt":"2014-05-01T07:18:04","slug":"primary-7-diary-for-may-and-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/OurLadyMissions\/2014\/05\/01\/primary-7-diary-for-may-and-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 7 Diary for May and June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Primary 7 pupils have a very busy term ahead.\u00a0 Below is a list of planned activities.\u00a0 Please complete the attached sheet and return to school.<br \/>\n<strong>Wednesday 30<sup>th<\/sup> April\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Giffnock Library<br \/>\n<\/strong>All Primary 7 classes will visit the library to get a better insight into the library system and all that this service has to offer.<br \/>\n<strong>Friday 2<sup>nd<\/sup> May\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Day at the Movies<br \/>\n<\/strong>A day at the movies has been organised as a celebration for their final year at primary school.\u00a0 The children will come to school dressed as a character from a film or just be an extra (\u2018own clothes\u2019).\u00a0 There will be a charge of \u00a33 to include lunch, popcorn and drinks.<br \/>\n<strong>Tuesday 6<sup>th<\/sup> May\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mass in St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral<br \/>\n<\/strong>10.30am Celebration Mass with Archbishop Tartaglia and other schools in the Glasgow South Deanery in St. Andrew\u2019s Cathedral, Clyde St., Glasgow.<br \/>\n<strong>Wednesday 7<sup>th<\/sup> May\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 St. Ninian\u2019s Library<br \/>\n<\/strong>All Primary 7 classes will visit St. Ninian\u2019s library to gain first hand knowledge of what is available in the library and how it is used to enhance their learning.<br \/>\n<strong>Friday 9<sup>th<\/sup> May\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Scottish Parliament<br \/>\n<\/strong>Visit to Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, which will include a tour of the Debating Chamber and a visit to the National Museum of Scotland for a self guided tour.<br \/>\nWe will leave school at 9am <strong>and return at 4.45pm<\/strong>, therefore children will have to be collected from school.\u00a0 Full school uniform please, shirt and tie.\u00a0 Packed lunch required.\u00a0 The cost for this visit is \u00a35 for transport.\u00a0 There is a shop and if you wish your child to buy a souvenir,we would recommend a maximum of \u00a32.\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Wednesday May 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (TBC)\u00a0 St. Ninian\u2019s High School All Day Visit<br \/>\n<\/strong>All Primary 7 classes will spend the whole day in St. Ninian\u2019s.\u00a0 Classes will leave school at 9am and return at 3pm.<br \/>\n<strong>Tuesday 17<sup>th<\/sup> June\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leavers\u2019 Mass\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 St. Joseph\u2019s Church 7pm<br \/>\n<\/strong>This is our Primary 7 \u2018Graduation\u2019 celebration.\u00a0 It is always a very moving occasion, especially for those families for whom this will be their last contact with Our Lady of the Missions.\u00a0 We would ask that children wear full school uniform, shirt and tie.\u00a0 I look forward to welcoming family and friends.\u00a0 Children will be presented with a bible, funded by our P.S.A.\u00a0 All family and friends are welcome to join us. Please indicate number on return slip.<br \/>\n<strong>Monday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> June\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leavers\u2019s Ceilidh\u00a0 6.45pm \u2013 9.00pm\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 School Hall<br \/>\n<\/strong>The final celebration for our leavers is a ceilidh to be held in the school hall.\u00a0 The children will be piped into the hall and we ask all parents to come into the Mensa to form a Guard of Honour to welcome the children.\u00a0 At the end of the ceilidh, parents are invited to come into the hall where the children will sing their farewell songs!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Primary 7 pupils have a very busy term ahead.\u00a0 Below is a list of planned activities.\u00a0 Please complete the attached sheet and return to school.
