The author is Joseph Delaney who has written a series of \u201cSpooks\u201d books. There is no charge for this event; however Mr Delaney will be signing copies of his books priced at \u00a34.50. More information can be found on his website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spooksbooks.com\/\">www.spooksbooks.com<\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you wish your child to buy a book, please just send the money in on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0On <strong>Thursday 29th August,<\/strong> we shall take part in \u201cSafety in the Park\u201d in and around the grounds of Arthurlie House, Barrhead. This is a very worthwhile, half day event where the children will join in small group activities to highlight danger issues in areas such as traffic, fire, and internet safety.<\/p>\n<p>P7a and \u00bd P7b will attend 9am \u2013 12 pm and P7c and \u00bd P7b, 12pm \u2013 3.00pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0We celebrate our school Feast Day on <strong>Friday 6th September<\/strong>; Our Lady\u2019s Birthday being Sunday 8<sup>th<\/sup> September. Weather permitting; we shall take P5 \u2013 P7 classes to morning Mass, walking to St. Vincent\u2019s Church, leaving school at 9.30 am and returning at 11.00am.<\/p>\n<p>We would be grateful for any parents with an East Renfrewshire Disclosure Certificate to accompany us.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Also, each Primary 7 class in the Authority is invited to take part in a debate in the Council Chambers, Eastwood Park. Provost Carmichael will guide the children in a topical debate of their choice. The classes will learn about Council debating procedures and protocols.<\/p>\n<p>Dates for the debates are: &#8211; <strong>P7a Monday 9<sup>th<\/sup> Sept, P7b Friday 13<sup>th<\/sup> Sept, P7c<\/strong> <strong>Monday 16<sup>th<\/sup> Sept, <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All visits are in the morning and the children will walk to the Council offices through Eastwood Park.<\/p>\n<p>We shall have an Ardentinny Parents\u2019 Meeting in September, further details to follow.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Suitable outdoor jacket for the weather conditions of the day for each visit\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Packed lunch required for Thursday 29<sup>th<\/sup> August for P7c and \u00bdP7b<\/strong> attending in the afternoon<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a31<\/strong> <strong>cost<\/strong> towards transport costs for Safety in the Park &#8211; the remainder being subsidised by P.S.A.<\/li>\n<li>Please return the attached school visits medical consent form on Monday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Primary 7 is always a busy year and we are getting off to a flying start with several visits out of school!
