We\u2019ll have lots of excitement in the nursery over the next week as the decorations, trees and festive preparations get under way.<\/span><\/p>\n

St Andrew\u2019s Day<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>On Tuesday 30th<\/sup> November children are invited to wear a little tartan if <\/span>they would like to (please don\u2019t worry as we have some spare) as we<\/span> celebrat<\/span>e St Andrew\u2019s Day by singing<\/span> and listening to traditional music, having <\/span>a Scottish snack and joining in some simple ceilidh dancing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>We would like to say a huge Netherlee welcome to Mrs Emma<\/span> Dowdall, a temporary member of staff, who will work in Saplings on Thursday and Friday each week. While staff work with all of the children it will be lovely for Mrs Dowdall to take on the role as keyworker with the Green Group on Thursday and Friday. Mrs Dowdall was really excited to have started yesterday and got straight in to playing and learning alongside our children.<\/p>\n

P1 Applications for School<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>Online applications for starting P1 in August 2022 can be made from 1 December 2021. Please click on the link for more information and to apply:\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk\/apply-for-p1<\/a>. Some parents may decide to defer their child starting school until August 2023. Should you wish to defer your child you are asked to complete the online application form and indicate this there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Masks and Social Distancing<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>We thank you for continuing to protect our staff and other adults at pick up and drop off time by wearing a mask and social distancing. These measures are helping us all to stay safe.<\/p>\n

Special Books<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>We know that you\u2019ve enjoyed sharing the Special Books by the wonderful comments you\u2019ve written in them. We thank you for being so appreciative of all the hard work our staff put in to ensuring that every child is supported, nurtured and challenged while at nursery.\u00a0 If you\u2019ve not yet had time to return the Special Book we really do need it back to continue your child\u2019s learning story. Thank you.<\/p>\n

Netherlee Living Advent<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>We are delighted to be joining in this local community event once again this year. Our school and nursery will be joining in the festive fun by unveiling windows on 1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> December. Our nursery window will be able to be viewed from Linn Park Ave in the Acorn building. More information can be found in the attachment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank You!<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>A big thank for your contributions to our Nursery Fund\u00a0 which have helped<\/span> with funding some of the presents from Santa. We<\/span> are so grateful for every penny donated<\/span> as this helps us to provide parties, baking, playdough etc for our children.<\/span>\u00a0 We want to say a huge thank you to our <\/span>Netherlee PTA for their generous contribution towards buying presents and party snacks for during the festive period<\/span> as well.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Christmas Lunch<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/b>Children are in for a treat on Friday 17<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> December as our lovely nursery catering staff, Michelle & Denise, will be cooking our first ever Christmas Lunch. There\u2019s no need to order this special lunch as this will be the option on Friday 17<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> December.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next Friday we\u2019ll be in touch about festive events as we count down to Christmas\u2026. have a lovely weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n
