Our Eco Committee recently applied for funding from Tesco’s Bag of Help initiative.\u00a0 We are delighted to inform you that we have been successful with this and have secured a minimum of \u00a38000 for school grounds work.\u00a0 We now have the chance to increase that \u00a38000 to \u00a312 000 with a public vote in Tesco Barrhead, Newton Mearns or Clarkston<\/strong>\u00a0from Saturday 27th February until Sunday 6th March<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/strong>There are 3 awarded grants of \u00a312 000, \u00a310 000 and \u00a38000.\u00a0 The project with the most votes receives the \u00a312 000 award while 2nd place receives \u00a310 000 and 3rd place \u00a38000.\u00a0 Shoppers will be given a token with every transaction and encouraged to vote for the project they would like to see receive funding.We would please encourage as many of you as possible to pop into Tesco Barrhead, Newton Mearns or Clarkston<\/strong>\u00a0between Saturday 27th February and Sunday 6th March<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and vote for Neilston Primary.\u00a0\u00a0 We will be notified what level of grant we have been awarded by the end of March.\u00a0 As soon as we know what we have been awarded, we will let you know.\u00a0 Thank you for your help and support.<\/p>\n

“Tesco has teamed up with greenspace scotland to launch its Bags of Help initiative in Scotland. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of \u00a312,000, \u00a310,000 and \u00a38,000 \u2013 all raised from the 5p bag charge.<\/em><\/p>\n

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco\u2019s regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the five pence charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from 27 February until 6 March on who should receive the \u00a312,000, \u00a310,000 and \u00a38,000 awards.”<\/em><\/p>\n
