Usually, our Autistic Collective events are safe spaces for parents and carers only\u2026.and we will absolutely continue to do that,\u00a0 but this webinar will be an opportunity for professionals who support Autistic people and their families to join us, as we all learn together side-by-side**<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Over the past couple of years, we feel extremely honoured and blessed to have been able to welcome exceptional Autistic\/Neurodivergent guest speakers and trainers to our <strong>Autistic Collective<\/strong> spaces.\u00a0 Following on in that tradition\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re delighted to announce International public speaker, researcher and published author <strong>Kieran Rose<\/strong> AKA <strong>The Autistic Advocate<\/strong> will be joining us via Zoom on <strong>Monday 27th March <\/strong>from <strong>7.00 &#8211; 9.00pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran writes at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theautisticadvocate.com\">www.theautisticadvocate.com<\/a> where his work has been read by over 2 million people.<\/p>\n<p>Join us on the 27th March, when Kieran will take us on a whistle-stop tour of <strong><em>Autistic Masking: Dispelling the myths\u2026.and what does \u2018Unmasking\u2019 mean?<\/em><\/strong> then answer any questions you may have.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dispelling myths around Masking<\/li>\n<li>Deconstructing the research narrative<\/li>\n<li>Contextualising Masking<\/li>\n<li>Defining \u2018The Mask\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Where does the Mask lead?<\/li>\n<li>Finding out what \u2018Unmasking\u2019 means<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table width=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>To register to book your place, and get a ZOOM link, please email <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:hello@autistic-collective.org\"><strong>hello@autistic-collective.org<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Can\u2019t make it?\u00a0 <\/strong>Don\u2019t worry, please register anyway.\u00a0 All registrants will be sent a recording afterwards (NB: the Q&amp;A section of the session will not be recorded)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Kieran<\/strong> was diagnosed Autistic in 2003 and is a parent to 3 Autistic children.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran has chapters and mentions in several internationally renowned books and has a book on Autistic Masking and Stigma, co-written with Psychologist Dr Amy Pearson, due to be published with Pavilion Press in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran guest lectures at Universities across the UK and is a regular guest lecturer in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Sunderland, and to mental health professionals at The Anna Freud Centre for children and families.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran is a co-founder of the networking organisation The Autistic Cooperative which provides professional networks for Autistic professionals.
