S2 pupils had a fantastic day taking part in the STEAM Event. They had fun learning about a range of different career opportunities in various industries relating to the subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths.

S1 Science Centre Trip
S1 visited the Science Centre this week. Thank you to all of the staff who helped to organise and supervise the trip. The pupils had a fantastic time as you can see from the pictures!
Royal Zoological Society of Scotland Summer School 2015
Applications are open for S5 and S6 pupils to apply for a FREE place at the RZSS Summer School 2015.
This is a 1 week placement during the summer holidays at either Edinburgh Zoo or Highland Wildlife Park.
The placement involves studying animal behaviour, animal enclosure design and learning about the work of the vets.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who are considering applying to Vet Medicine or any other animal-related course.
Any pupil interested in applying should see Mrs Wilson in Science Lab A8.

Welcome to the first edition of the all new Science & Technology Magazine. The magazine has been created from a dedicated team of pupils from each year group. This edition has a range of articles and a competition for a new magazine logo.

Nuffield Placement Scheme Summer of 2014. S5 Pupils
Nuffield Placement Scheme will take place once again during the summer of 2014. This involves completing a science/mathematics/engineering placement during the summer holidays.
As in previous years, the scheme is aimed at the current 5th year students who will be sitting their Highers in 2014 and who are studying any science, technology, engineering and/or maths subjects.
The students should have good Int 2 level results in these subjects . More importantly they should be motivated and interested in studying sience at university.
It also pays £80 per week!

S1 visit to Glasgow Science Centre
Our S1 pupils visited the Glasgow Science Centre as part of the S1 Science course. Pupils had to examine the experiments and exhibits available on all three floors and write a report on the nature of the experiments and decide which ones they liked and why.
