Huge congratulations to Yung Wong who has earned the first ever Macalaureate Award at Mearns Castle High School.
Following her work with the S Factor, Yung chose to use her Art and History skills to produce a bonny wee leaflet all about William Wallace. This was of a very high quality indeed. Yung will be presented with her certificate and reward in the near future and has also earned Wallace house points. Weel done Yung!
S3 pupils took part in a newly developed Interdisciplinary Industrial Awareness day called ‘Headliner’. The purpose the project was to promote a headliner act at a gig. Each group was given an artist at random including Usher, Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters and Justin Bieber and had to complete a series of activities throughout the event. Each act was in the top 25 performing artists in the world for their tours in 2011.
Pupils were responsible for writing their own business plan including: marketing strategy; choosing a venue in Glasgow (including cost and capacity details); deciding on a ticket price based on worldwide averages and producing a final profit margin based on expected ticket sales.
