In Summer 2016 Mearns House will open across from our school on Waterfoot Road. It is a state of the art care home for the elderly. The new development will include a café, which will also be open to the general public.
Pupils at Mearns Castle have been invited to take part in a competition to name the café. The winning entry will receive an Ipad mini and will also have their idea used as the café name.
To access an entry form for the competition click here or collect one from your Year Head. All entries should be passed to Miss McLachlan by Friday 6th May. Good luck!
Unfortunately the Quiz Night will no longer go ahead on 13 May. It has now been re-scheduled for Friday 30 September.
If you have purchased tickets for this event you can either collect a refund from the school office or a replacement ticket will be issued for the new date.
In March S3 pupils participated in the ‘Headliner’ IDL event. One of the tasks was to create merchandise to promote their band or artist. The finished bags were sent to the school visited by S6 World Challenge pupils in Cambodia during their expedition in June 2015.
There is a meeting of the Dyslexia Scotland Glasgow East Renfrewshire branch on Thursday 5th May at Mearns Castle High School. The focus of the meeting is Visual Stress.
