Meetings of Parent Consultation Groups – Session 2011-2012
East Renfrewshire Council have released a letter informing parents of two upcoming meetings for consultations with parent groups – Parent Council Chairs and Minority Ethnic Parents.

Miss Ferguson has posted her presentation to parents of pupils selected in taking part in the World Challenge Expedition to Swaziland in 2013.

On the morning of Saturday, 26 May 2012 in Isobel Mair School there will be an event for Parents of Children with Additional Support Needs.
Parents will be able to chose two workshops from a choice of four and there will be representation forom a number of agencies involved in the support of parents and children.
More information will be available after the spring break.
Congratulations to Gabriel Ross, Sheetal Ravury and Matthew Barclay for their efforts towards making a superb presentation at the ‘Learning About Scotland’ launch event in the Royal Concert Hall last Wednesday.
Mearns Castle was the only Secondary school in Scotland to be invited to speak at the event about our learning experiences in a Scottish Context.
Our presentation showcased the S1 S FACTOR and Art & Design Shirt-creating Project.
Honourable mentions were also made of our S1-6 Music progression route, S3 Business Enterprise ‘Made in Scotland’ topic and work carried out by the English department in relation to Scots dialect and poetry.
Congratulations on an outstanding performance to all members of the Tickwick team for their achievements and success on attaining 4 awards at the Renfrewshire Area Finals on Thursday. The team presented an excellent performance and were a credit to themselves, their team and the school.
Awards achieved included: –
Overall Winners for:-
– Best Presentation (by Ailsa Thomson & Olly Orchant)
– Best Team Award with an opportunity to compete in the Scottish National Awards in June. (Haris Rahsid, Ailsa Thomson, Ailsa Stephen, Kaitlyn Davies, Fraser Proudfoot, Ryan Ward, James McNamara, Olly Orchant and Adam Wallace).
Runners up for:-
– Best Stand Display (by Ailsa Stephen)
– Best Report (By Haris Rashid, with input from team members)
