Fair Trade Big Breakfast

Primary 2 have been very busy organising a Fair Trade Café, writing letters to local businesses, sending out invitations to our Big Breakfast and creating Fair Trade pieces of art.

We would like to say a huge “Thank You” to our community business partners for donating so generously to our Big Fair Trade Breakfast. Thanks to Coop (Clarkston), Scotmid (Eaglesham & Mearns), Morrisons(Giffnock), Tesco(Silverburn) and Eaglesham Bakers! Special thanks to our very own star baker, Mrs Parker, who baked delicious Fair Trade cakes! Thanks to all the staff who helped to serve our guests.

We have been learning about where food comes from and why Fair Trade is so important.

We are learning about different fuels and how they are used.

We invited an engineer from the local wind farm to teach us about wind turbines. We listened and watched for useful information. We wrote notes and asked questions.

Keeping Safe in Winter P2, P3 & P4

Poster making to share important messages about travelling in bad weather conditions.	Thalia from P2 and Anna from P3 working together to spread the word about staying warm with appropriate clothes for Winter weather.
Archie and Finlay MacDougall working on a joint safety message to put up around the school.	Amelia and Isabella reminding us all to look after pets and younger family members when there is salt on the ground……it is not for eating!!!!!!!!!!

Marvellous Makers group designed and made accessories to make children more visible during the dark winter days.	Getting to grips with stitching with ‘high viz’ materials.

P2,P3 and P4 acting out risky situations and teaching us how to deal with them responsively.	Super Surveyors group went out into the community to gather information about ‘Keeping Safe in our local environment’.

Spring Nature Walk

Primary 1 went on a Spring Walk around the school grounds to look for signs of Spring.

We explored the area, looking for living things; plants, insects, birds.

We recorded our findings by taking notes, drawing and taking photographs.

We found plants, flowers, shrubs, ladybirds, vegetables, pine cones, a butterfly, birds, worms, spiders.
