Literacy across the Curriculum: a responsibility for all
Literacy is directly linked to the growth of analytical thought and therefore to the growth of intelligence. The higher processes of thought are achieved through the interaction of linguistic with mental and perceptual powers. Language presents the most visible indication of thought. Success in all subjects is to a large extent success in the language of that subject.
