Kirkhill Anti-Bullying Policy

We recently updated our anti-bullying policy. Thank you to our pupils and parents who have helped to create this and for your ideas.  The document can be accessed through the following link;

In January some of our pupils will be working with Miss Harvey to create a pupil friendly version to have in our classrooms and to support everyone in Kirkhill Primary.

Technology Challenge

The Kirkhill Primary Technology House Challenge will be held next Friday (13th December). You have arranged your groups and discussed some ideas in class. You can use Teams to organise who is responsible for bringing in the resources you plan to use (junk modelling), but don’t give away any ideas!

 Primary 6 Technology Challenge

Design Brief:

The recent bad weather has damaged your chimney. You will need to build a new chimney and fireplace which Santa can fit down to deliver the presents.

Design Criteria:

The chimney must be half a metre tall.

The chimney must be free standing.

There must be enough room for Santa and his presents to fit down.

And it’s a wrap!

What an amazing afternoon! A huge THANK YOU to our fabulous families for coming to our P7 Christmas Fayre and contributing to the success.

We have made a profit of over £1000!

The children worked so hard and we are so proud. Looking forward to planning our fun day out.

Thank you once again!

Math Games Open Afternoon

This afternoon we opened the classroom doors and welcomed many of our parents to join us. We were playing a variety of numeracy games, demonstrating different, fun, ways to develop the speed and accuracy of number fact recall. These can be enjoyed at home too. Thank you to all who were able to join us. We understand this is a very hectic time of year and it is not always possible to get away from work.

Our ‘Wild Winter Market’ will take place in the P5a classroom on Tuesday 17th December 2019 from 1.45pm-2.30pm.  If you are unable to attend our fair and/or would like to pre-order any item(s), order forms will be made available soon.
Order forms must be completed and returned by next Friday (6th December).

Money raised will go towards our chosen charity (tbc) so please dig deep 😉

We’re Ready! Bring it on!

Primary 7 have been little elves and working hard at Santa’s Workshop . We are super excited to welcome all our lovely families to our Christmas Fayre during our open classrooms at 2pm tomorrow.

Children are welcome to bring in some pocket money if they would like to take part in some of the different activities or buy any of the products. Thank you in anticipation!

Special Last Christmas at Kirkhill Primary

Primary 7 is zooming past so fast, we really do want time to SLOW down!

As our final Christmas at Kirkhill Primary School fast approaches, we thought it would be a lovely treat to decorate our school Christmas tree with our own personalised baubles or hanging decorations.

This week as well as working through your Kindness Advent and Enterprise homework, you are invited to make a decoration to hang on our school Christmas tree.  🙂

Battle of Dunkirk

This afternoon we used I pads to research about the battle of Dunkirk as part of our learning on WWII. We used this information to make a cartoon strip of the events that took place at that time.

Money Advice Scotland

Today we had a special guest from Money Advice Scotland visit our classroom. She told us all about budgeting and we used this knowledge to plan a party for 20 people. We also took part in a money quiz!
