Reverse Advent Donations

Most advent calendars start full and then empty as we get closer to Christmas. This year we invite Kirkhill families to fill a “reverse advent calendar bag”

We hope that you will place into a bag items for East Renfrewshire Good Causes. We would invite children to bring bags into school on Thursday 19 December. The children will then take their bags to the Christmas Service at Broom Parish Church. Broom Parish Church have kindly offered to deliver the items we donate. We would like to thank Broom Parish Church for this kind gesture.

We would welcome donations of the following items:-
 Breakfast cereal
 Tinned meat/fish/soup/beans/spaghetti/mac cheese etc.
 Packs of dry pasta and pasta sauces
 Tinned fruit and tinned deserts
 Biscuits
 Toiletries – toothpaste/brushes, shampoo, soap, anti perspirants/deodorant, disposable razors, all types of ladies hygiene and sanitary products.

Please note, We have been asked not to include selection boxes as the donations will cover the next 12 months.
In gathering donations, you will be supporting East Renfrewshire Good Causes and be supporting families in East Renfrewshire over the festive period and beyond. For further information on East Renfrewshire Good Causes, please click on the links below.

Competition Time – calling all creative writers!

East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure are celebrating Cinderella coming to Eastwood Park Theatre this December with their first children’s short story competition!

To be in with the chance of winning a pair of panto tickets, you or an adult (parent/teacher) should send us your short story (under 200 words) starting with ‘Once Upon a Time’ to: mary.dickie@ercultureandleisure.org by Sun 10th November.

There will be three age categories: (7 and under, 8-11 and 12-16).

If you win, we’ll be in touch to arrange to ‘crown’ you as our winner.

Good luck!
