If a child cannot be looked after by their family, governments
must make sure that they are looked after properly by people
who respect the child’s religion, culture and language.

Quorn Kids Campaign

Our Primary 5 pupils enjoyed taking part in cooking session run by the Quorn Kids Campaign. They prepared, cooked then sampled  three delicious recipes made using healthy ingredients.

Governments must work to provide good quality health care,
clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment so that
children can stay healthy.

Easter Services

Our Easter Church Services will be held on Thursday 29th March. The P1-4 service will start at 10:00am and the P5-7
service will start at 1:00pm.

The services will be held in Broom Parish Church and will be led by Rev Jim Boag.  Our Senior Choir and Guitar Group will be performing at both services. Some ladies from Broom Church have kindly offered to provide tea and coffee in the vestibule after the services. All donations for coffee will go to a charity chosen by Broom Church.
Due to the timings of the services we have made the following changes for Thursday 29th March only:
Whole school lunchtime 11:45 am – 12:30 pm
We look forward to you joining us at Broom Church.

We Are Open!

Kirkhill Primary is fully open and operating as normal today, Tuesday 6th March.

Children will be dismissed at 3pm as usual.

Please give yourself plenty of time for the journey and contact the school if you have any difficulty with this.

World Book Day

Our pupils were so disappointed to miss out on all the fun activities the Librarian Pupil Group had planned for World Book Day last Thursday that they have rescheduled it for this Friday 9th February.

On Friday pupils, if they wish, can :
1. Come to school dressed as a Book Character
2. Bring a book to swap for another

During the day pupils will be taking part in fun activities including:
Reading for pleasure throughout the day,
Classroom quiz, Guess the Book from photographs of food

School Closed – Wed 28th Feb


Government advice for tomorrow is now confirmed as ‘do not travel’.

All East Renfrewshire schools will be closed tomorrow (28th February). For clarity, neither staff nor pupils should report to school tomorrow. Updates regarding Thursday (1st March) will be posted on council and school TWITTER feeds and websites.

Early Years Scotland, in partnership with Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and the Daily Record, has been extensively promoting and advertising their first ever Careers Morning.

Early Years Scotland has been funded by SDS to organise and deliver this event to support the national expansion of the ELC workforce by 2020.

Office 365 ProPlus

All Glow users, can get copies of Microsoft Office 2016 to use on their home devices – PC, Mac, phones and tablets.

This will enable the use of a range of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote etc) on up to 15 home devices without cost (the 15 licences being split as 5 for PCs and/or Macs, 5 for tablets and 5 for phones).

To do this, login to Glow, from the launch pad click the Office 365 Home tile (image below) then the “Install Office apps” button and follow the instructions.

TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE

Please could we ask you to send in empty cereal boxes, cardboard, plastic bottles and any other odd bits and pieces that you may have at home that would be suitable for your making a model for our Inter-HouseTechnology Challenge.
Please could you send these items in with your child on or before Thursday 14th December?

EARLY CLOSURE

School will close on the 20th December at 2.30pm.
