Very productive morning at the allotment this morning with Irene from West College Scotland as part of the Grow Cook Eat Showcase and Horticulture placement.<\/p>\n
After a brief discussion about seeds and how plants grow, the young people were keen to get to work.<\/p>\n
This morning the group were sowing seeds, weeding parts of the raised beds and forking the soil.
\nThe students \u00a0all worked together sharing skills\u00a0\u00a0to help\u00a0improve the allotment and gain new horticultural skills. This will allow them to present these skills as they progress and use them in a wider context of their learning – the end of year showcase and for lifelong learning.<\/p>\n
The rain didn’t stop\u00a0them working and eventually the sun came out as everyone worked together.<\/p>\n
