Additional Hours

Due to COVID-19 No Additional Hours are currently available.

In response to parental demand, East Renfrewshire Council replaced the previous wraparound system with a more responsive and flexible approach. Where available, parents can purchase further early learning and childcare over and above the entitled  hours. This facility helps parents with those times when they need some extra childcare on a one-off basis like attending a medical appointment or going for an interview. The system allows for hours to be booked at short notice rather than being tied into a long term contract with limited flexibility.

Any available sessions can be booked online and paid for through the ParentPay system no less than 48 hours in advance.

Please note the following:

  • Places over and above the entitlement are limited and not guaranteed.
  • Sessions are charged at the rate of £2.25 per hour and are non-refundable.
  • All parents/carers of children currently attending Hazeldene can purchase additional hours where available.
  • Spaces are booked on a first come, first served basis for the date you purchase only. There is no guarantee that the same time or day will be available at other points in the year (e.g. once new children start the space will no longer be available).
Charges from August 2018    £2.25 per hour

Healthy Eating

If your child is attending the lunch hour, we ask that you provide a healthy lunch (no crisps, sweets, biscuits, fizzy drinks please.)  We provide milk and water, but most of the children like to bring their own water bottle.

As some of our children have allergies, it is also important that no foods containing nuts are brought to the family centre.

Please ensure that your child’s lunch box contains an ice pack, per instructions from  the Care Inspectorate.

Thank you very much for your co-operation.
