Patterns are all around us, and there are lots of great fun ways to develop children\u2019s awareness of patterns to help them build important early maths skills and apply rules.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can notice patterns<\/b>:<\/span><\/p>\n

On clothing, wellington boots and the soles of <\/span>your shoes\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On animals – <\/span>\u201cTigers have stripes and leopards have spots.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Go on a pattern hunt in your own and the wider environment\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI can see a pattern on the tyres.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

You can hear them<\/b>:<\/span><\/p>\n

Make a sound pattern with instruments e.g. BANG, tap, tap, BANG, tap, tap.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sing songs where the lines are repeated where there is a number pattern going up or down.<\/span><\/p>\n
