One Planet Picnic Pocket Garden

We are taking part in the One Planet Picnic Pocket Garden design competition. We are designing and planning a sustainable garden which can be either based on growing food or a wildlife garden linked with the Global Goals. The Global Goals aim to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change.

The children have been very busy gathering and sharing their ideas as we plan our garden.

Children’s Committee

Our Children’s Committee met this week to discuss The Global Goals and how to make the world a better place. They had fantastic ideas which they shared with the rest of the children after their meeting. Look out for our plans to reduce waste, think of others through Global Citizenship and  supporting charities and reduce litter. We even plan to develop our role play area into a recycling plant!

The Worm

We have been entertained by and have been participating in an Eco Drama called The Worm.

The children have been learning about the role worms have within the natural world. They are learning about composting and how food waste can be reduced and to respect the natural environment.

We have a wormery and the children have been exploring the worms as well as learning how to take care of them.
