At Glen Family Centre we\u00a0appreciate and embrace\u00a0the importance of high quality outdoor learning experiences for\u00a0all\u00a0our children.\u00a0 Children will\u00a0have opportunity every day to be outdoors in our beautifully designed outdoor spaces, our wonderfully exciting\u00a0‘woodland’ area or\u00a0our beautiful community\u00a0resource\u00a0\u00a0of Rouken Glen Park.<\/p>\n

All children have the right to\u00a0 daily outdoor\u00a0play.\u00a0 At Glen Family Centre\u00a0our educators use guidance\u00a0such as \u00a0‘My world outdoors<\/a>‘ and ‘Loose parts play\u2019\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0in addition to specialist \u00a0Forest Schools training to\u00a0ensure\u00a0excellent experiences for our very young children.<\/p>\n

Within the centre, we provide all necessary outdoor clothing such as snow suits, hats, gloves, welly socks and wellingtons and access outdoors in all weathers and all seasons. We aim to develop our approach so that our children can have free movement between both the indoor and outdoor environment throughout the course of their nursery day. \u00a0 Research has shown that children who engage in\u00a0outdoor play\u00a0have higher levels of engagement and therefore\u00a0learning.<\/p>\n

We are always keen to support our parents to lead learning within the centre and the outdoor environment often proves a favourite area for parental engagement opportunities.\u00a0 Please let\u00a0Emma (Forest Schools lead)\u00a0know if you could be part of taking this learning forward.<\/p>\n
