Our Community Cafes have gone from strength to strength over the last three session. About five times each school session, our Primary 6 and 7 volunteers lead the organisation of our Community Cafe, which regularly serves well over 150 customers. Our children have undergone training, including ‘Barista’ training from local businesses on Fenwick Road, to manage the food, drink and money. We are also very grateful for the parental volunteers who regularly help behind the scenes.

We now have strong relationships with a number of local businesses and supermarkets who have donated to the cafe. Profits from the cafe have been used in a way decided by the children – most recently, they provided a significant contribution towards the purchasing of our goals and basketball hoops in the rear playground.

During the last three years, we have also aligned the cafes with a range of community learning and activities, including Parent Council Halloween events, Family First and Young Carer information sessions, and even CPR Heartstart workshops led by our children.

All the dates are in our Parental Calendar of events and we hope to see you there soon!
