Sports Day
This week it was sports day at Crookfur! It was really fun going round the stations and dancing to the music while we waited for our turns.
After the stations there were lots of races like class races, mum and dad races and teacher races. In the class races, we ran in heats and the first two from each race got to go into finals with the quickest boys and girls from both Primary 4 classes. Max McKie managed first for the boys and Yvie was second for the girls! There were also relay races in houses to earn house points. Fleming won the relay race with Slessor in second, Stevenson in third and Livingston in fourth.
One year time capsules
On Friday, we looked at the one year time capsules that we created exactly 10 months ago at the beginning of Primary 4. It was really weird looking at our drawing, writing and handwriting from the beginning of the year and seeing how much it had improved. We looked at the pieces of string that we had measured ourselves with and saw how much we had grown. Some of us had written funny things on our sheet that we couldn’t remember writing!
Maths
The Cubes have been learning to read information from a bar chart. At the start, before we practiced any bar charts we revised tally charts. We have done lots of fun activities with bar charts including making our own ones or finding specific information from them to help practice our data handling skills.
French
In French we have been practicing the names for different parts of the body like la jambe (leg) or la tête (head). We sang a song in French to practice the vocabulary that we had learnt.
