THIS WEEK IN P6 31/10/16

Language: We started our new class readers this week.

Foxes: Started The Shrimp and looked at the front of the book and the blurb to get some clues.

BFG: were reading an extract from Hill of the Red Fox and answered some questions.

Matildas: Started reading Friend or Foe and were finding information by looking at the title and the picture.

Maths:

Octagons: the octagons have been learning about tenths, thirds and fifths in fractions.

Rectangles: the rectangles have been learning about data handling and tally marks. They learnt by going around classes doing surveys.

Circles: the circles have been learning about volume and capacity. We’ve learned by doing activities outside the classroom, playing games on the board and doing textbook pages.

Science: In science we have been learning about the human body and did an experiment to make working lungs out: bottles, straws, balloons and bluetac. And when you put them altogether you get a lung but the one we did it did not work.
