If you have an eligible library card you might also have access to Kanopy (<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kanopy.com\/\">https:\/\/www.kanopy.com\/<\/a><\/u> ) which offers thousands more film options free.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Watch a Documentary<\/strong> \u2013 there are a few websites which give you access to free documentaries\n<ul>\n<li>Documentary Tube<\/li>\n<li>Top Documentary Films<\/li>\n<li>Documentary Heaven<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tour Ancient Rome<\/strong> \u2013 (<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/rome\">https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/rome<\/a><\/u>) while we might not be able to travel right now \u2013 current technology means you can explore other cities and even other times on-line. You could take a virtual tour of ancient Rome which takes you through its ancient monuments<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learn to Paint<\/strong> \u2013 if you enjoy painting pick up your brushes \u2013 403 episodes of The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross have been added to YouTube<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get a PenPal<\/strong> \u2013 connect with people around the world and see how lockdown is playing out in other countries (or talk about the weather!) Find penpals online (penpal world.com) \u2013 and get started straight away.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cook Something New<\/strong> \u2013 there are great recipes on line, even if resources are limited. Jack Munroe\u2019s recipes <u><a href=\"https:\/\/cookingonabootstrap.com\/\">https:\/\/cookingonabootstrap.com\/<\/a><\/u> (are created for people on strict budgets) and Miguel Barclay (YouTube) is best known for his pound meals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learn a Language<\/strong> \u2013 Always wanted to speak another language \u2013 lockdown gives you the opportunity to learn a new language or brush up your vocabulary on one you\u2019ve allowed to get rusty.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Go to the Theatre<\/strong> \u2013 recorded performances are nothing new but platforms like Marquee (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.marquee.tv\">marquee.tv<\/a>) are offering free trials \u2013 so you can see if it\u2019s something you\u2019d like to watch in the future.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Solve a Mystery<\/strong> \u2013 Enjoy solving mysteries? There are plenty of on-line communities like Reddit\u2019s (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reddit.com\">reddit.com<\/a>)\u00a0 Unresolved Mysteries where mystery fans get together to swap theories and combine information to try to get to the bottom of cold cases<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start a Blog<\/strong> \u2013 do you have a great indoor hobby you could share? Interests in pastimes such as cooking and board games has, unsurprisingly, gone up recently. If your hobbies are trending why not set up a Blog and share your knowledge? You can set up a WordPress (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wordpress.com\">wordpress.com<\/a>) account and blog for free.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Have a Kitchen Dance Party<\/strong> \u2013 you can have too much screen time \u2013 maybe workouts aren\u2019t your thing \u2013 make up a playlist of your favourite songs and dance your way around the kitchen \u2013 no-one\u2019s watching!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Read or Listen to a Book<\/strong> \u2013 you could find something interesting on ManyBooks (<a href=\"https:\/\/manybooks.net\">https:\/\/manybooks.net<\/a> ), or try out Audible for free (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.audible.com\/ep\/FreeListens\">https:\/\/www.audible.com\/ep\/FreeListens<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start a Virtual Bookclub<\/strong> &#8211; agree on free books and get together with friends, on-line, for a chat.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Board Games \/ Jigsaws \/ Adult Colouring Books <\/strong>\u2013 are all ways to get away from the screen and keep boredom at bay.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Join the library &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Do you know about the library service\u2019s latest online resource \u2013 Press Reader. It gives you FREE access to over 7,000 worldwide magazines and newspapers. You can filter by country, category and language. There are 500 UK magazines and 171 UK newspapers including all the daily tabloids and broadsheets.You can create an account and tailor your preferences but the more you use it, it will begin to tailor based on your reading.
