We attended a very busy assembly on Friday centred around children’s rights. Pupils who have entered the Give Racism the Red Card entertained the assembly by showing their stories and posters; our cross country runners were awarded with certificates or medals and our N3 Hospitality candidates were presented with certificates. It’s no wonder our senior students return home on Fridays exhausted!

Our senior pupils enjoyed participating in the third of our cross country events at Bellahouston Park yesterday.

It’s that time of year again where we get to enjoy Social Dancing in PE!

This morning classes Yell, Unst and Fetlar visited St Mungo’s Museum to participate in a Holocaust workshop. The content was upsetting and our pupils responded to it in a mature manner – and, as usual, represented IMS responsibly.

Some of our pupils participated in meditation as part of their mindfulness course. Afterwards, they reported back on how calm they felt and how well they could concentrate on their next lesson.

We joined our S4 friends at Woodfarm to design Christmas cards. The Head Teacher of Woodfarm will chose the winning entry and use it as her official card!

We took advantage of today’s sunshine to walk to Rouken Glen.

Pupils from Classes Yell, Unst and Fetlar joined with pupils from Woodfarm to participate in a Community Litter Pick this morning – thank goodness the sun was shining!

Class Yell joined their twinning Class Arran to hold a MacMillan Coffee Morning. We baked delicious scones in our Hospitality class and brought along some home baking too.

Pupils from Yell joined their friends from Unst and Fetlar for traditional outdoor games – including kite flying!
