Jura had a great time celebrating Halloween. We had some very scary costumes and enjoyed some festive games.
Bike-Ability day out @Rouken Glen Park
Class Jura pupils had a great day out at Rouken Glen park yesterday- all thanks to the volunteers from Bike-Ability and Rouken Glen park ranger services. The children were all very excited to receive their certificates and medals for completing their Level 1- Bikeability Scotland cycling course…
Bee-bots
Some of our class have been learning all about position and direction this week- and have been programming the Bee-bot to follow some directions.
Our Habitat hunt !
This morning was a beautiful day, so class Jura decided to go on a mini-beast hunt!
We took our worksheets out into the garden and searched for some mini- beasts all over the school playground.
We found lots of leaves and twigs and we checked them to see what trees they came from.
Fair Trade bananas
Class Jura have been learning all about Fair Trade bananas. The children have been finding out about where the bananas grow and how long they take to travel to the UK.
We visited the local supermarket to find the bananas that had the fair trade logo on them.
The Commonwealth Games
We are learning about different countries and have been devloping a dance for the Mela.
We know there are lots of different sports in the games and we have been practising hockey and netball.
We made models of people doing different sports. Can you guess what Mark’s person is doing?
Summer is coming!!!
Jura class have been developing their cycling skills. Kieran said “It was good because they look like real racing cars!”
World Book day
People from different books all got together today to celebrate World Book Day. We had Mario, Minnie Mouse, Spiderman, Mr Bump, Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy and a birthday boy. We had a party with cake and dancing.
Yesterday we attended a Charlie and the Chocolate factory party hosted by Orkney class. We each had a golden ticket to enter the party.
Catch Up
We have been planting beans and sunflowers and can’t believe how big they are growing!! We are taking them home now to look after by ourselves.
We partcicpated in the whole school Sign to Sing.
Anne said ” It was nice to learn the actions and also the Makaton. It was surprising and different!”
We are all looking forward to the holiday now.
Toby said” I’m looking forward to it to play Hungry Hippos with my brother!”
Christmas is here !!!!!
What a busy week it has been for class Jura. We dressed up as snowmen and made snowmen cakes. They were delicious
