At our harvest assembly we were joined by Agnes and Stanley from the Barrhead Foodbank. They want to pass on their thanks to everyone in Carlibar who donated to our harvest appeal, they were overwhelmed by our generous donation. The total weight of donated food was 312.6kg .
Your kindness will help to support local families.
Thank you so much.
Harvest assembly will be led by Primary One classes on Thursday 13th October at 9.50am. Primary 4 are collecting donations for the Barrrhead Foodbank as part of our Harvest celebrations. Please send donations of tins and packets into school tomorrow or first thing on Thursday morning.
Primary 2 children helped to harvest some of our potatoes that had been planted in the garden before the Summer holidays. Primary 5 children harvested some gooseberries and checked on the apples in our mini orchard.
We would really like your help. Each year at harvest time we collect donations of tins, jars and packets of food in school. These items are then given to Major Sharon, Salvation Army, Barrhead. The donations are used to support local people. Ten house points will be given to each child for every donation made to this Harvest Appeal. The House Captains will be in charge of totalling the points earned by the children. Donations should be given to children to hand into class to make sure they get their points recorded.
Our donations will be taken away after the Harvest Assembly on Thursday 10th October.
We were joined by Major Sharon from the Salvation Army, Barrhead and many parents as we celebrated harvest at our assembly on Thursday 11th October. Congratulations to Primaries 2 and 6 for their fantastic presentations. Our thanks go to all of the families who generously supported Primary 6 ‘s collection of tins and packets for the Salvation Army.
